Born from 10 years on the front lines
ThouShaltNotClick wasn't designed in a conference room. It was built by the team at Education Technology Professionals — the people who have spent over a decade walking into school server rooms, sitting across from principals at kitchen tables, and answering IT support calls from teachers in the middle of a lesson.
Across more than ten years and hundreds of schools and organizations served, we kept seeing the same pattern. A staff member would click a phishing email. A principal would ask if there was something — anything — they could do to train their team. An office administrator would forward us a suspicious wire-transfer request, hoping we could tell them whether it was real before they replied.
The enterprise cybersecurity platforms we'd recommend were either far too expensive for a small school's budget, or built for a corporate environment that didn't fit the way schools actually work. The training content felt generic. The pricing was opaque. The tooling assumed a dedicated security team that schools didn't have.
We knew the gap, we knew the people in it, and we decided to build something for them. ThouShaltNotClick is what happens when a decade of being-the-IT-help-desk-for-real-schools turns into software: realistic phishing simulations, staff training that respects how busy teachers are, and pricing that lets a 25-person school afford the same protection a Fortune 500 takes for granted.

Lucas Ostrowski

Lucas has spent nearly 25 years in technology. Thirteen of those were in senior IT roles at Fortune 500 companies — work that included web applications development. That's not a footnote: it's the discipline behind ThouShaltNotClick's detection engine. Our phishing analysis isn't a third-party product licensed and rebadged — it's built and tuned in-house, by people who write code for a living.
In 2016, while still in that corporate world, he founded Education Technology Professionals and pointed that engineering background at a problem he kept running into: rural and private schools with real IT needs and no realistic, affordable way to meet them. What started as a one-man mission has grown into a nationwide team with over 40 years of combined IT experience — and roughly 90% of ETP's growth has come by word of mouth, one school introducing the next.
ThouShaltNotClick is what those two halves built together — years writing software at scale, and years inside real school server rooms watching how staff actually get phished. That's the difference you feel in the product — detection tuned to how a school is really attacked, training that respects how little spare time a teacher has, and pricing a 25-person school can afford.
A lifelong Roman Catholic, Lucas grew up in the Polish-American community, was an active Polish Boy Scout (ZHP), and served as a sleepaway camp director at Our Lady of Czestochowa in Doylestown, Pennsylvania for nearly a decade — experiences that deepened his love for Catholic community and service to young people.
Lucas lives in the Philadelphia area with his wife Lauren and their two kids, Natalie and Sam. When he's not working on making schools safer and smarter, you'll find him coaching his kids' teams or dreaming about the day ETP serves schools in all 50 states.
